Throughout Waldeck’s lengthy history, we have always considered providing vocational training for young people to be an important part of our role as a company. Every year, we enable six dedicated, motivated trainees to start their working life with a traineeship at Waldeck GmbH & Co. KG in Münster.
If you see your future lying in the commercial field, then take advantage of the opportunity to start a traineeship in wholesale and international trade management. If you prefer to work directly with our products and have a strong sense of orderliness, then a traineeship as a warehouse logistics specialist could be right up your street!
On this web page, you’ll find a full range of information on our traineeships. Sign up for a 2023 traineeship now!
As a wholesale and international trade management specialist, you are in charge of the flow of goods and are the link between manufacturers and our customers.
Your role includes, for example, comparing quotes from different manufacturers and suppliers, and determining the optimum terms and conditions for price, delivery and storage. Your role is primarily computer-based, but we’ll make sure that to you our products are more than just item numbers. By visiting our warehouse, you’ll get to know the goods you work with. To ensure that our products arrive at the customer on time and in good condition, you will also organise goods dispatch.
Through regular contact with customers and business partners, you will learn customer-focused service and work to keep customers satisfied and loyal.
The focus in international trade management is on working with international suppliers and customers, so a good knowledge of English is a bonus.
You will learn about routes and means of transport for international goods traffic and specific points (e.g. customs duties) that need to be considered when agreeing freight contracts.
The wholesale and international trade management traineeship is a ‘dual system’ traineeship. That means you’re not just working at the company, but will also learn the theoretical aspects of the role at a vocational training college.

As a warehouse logistics specialist, you will help ensure the smooth running of our large warehouse. Where Waldeck differs from the norm is that we specialise in warehouse logistics, which means that we take care of warehousing, order picking and shipping for a large number of different items – over 10,000 in fact!
In the course of your traineeship, you’ll learn things like how to check that incoming goods are complete and free of defects, how to correctly record incoming goods, what to do with the documents that accompany them, and what you need to think about in terms of customs and hazardous goods regulations. With the help of forklifts and other machinery, warehouse logistics specialists move large quantities of goods. You will therefore also learn all about key standards, measurements, and units of quantity and weight. To ensure that incoming goods and products can always be located when needed, you will use our ERP system to assign then a storage location.
Your role also covers outgoing goods. You’ll learn how to pick orders and how to correctly load and secure them. You are also the contact person for upstream and downstream roles within the company.
